What was once a vision has now become a reality. Patrons can check out a book and walk out of the library into a gorgeous garden to read on a park bench. Families can stroll through a butterfly garden and play in the bubbler rocks. Right in the heart of your hometown.

The Phase 1 construction of our Library Garden adjacent to our library is complete with gardens of host plants native to our area, butterfly gardens, bubbler rocks, park benches, a grassy lawn for picnics and event seating. Memorial bricks have been installed under an arbor. Storytime is often held in the garden and families enjoy being outside after visiting the Library. Garden volunteers have added vegetables and herbs to the garden. We foresee gardening classes for young and old, field trips by our local schools and events filling this space and building upon the wonderful assets of the Athens-Limestone County Public Library.

Help us complete this beautiful outdoor space

Naming Opportunities in the Library Garden are the perfect way to honor or memorialize a loved one or recognize your own family. It is truly a gift with lasting impression for years to come.
